NAYLAX CODE OF CONDUCT

At NAYLAX, we are committed to fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all players, coaches, parents, and participants. Our Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and standards of behavior that ensure our lacrosse community thrives both on and off the field. By embracing the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and mutual respect, we can help every player grow not only as an athlete but also as a responsible, respectful individual.

All participants, including players and their families, are required to review and adhere to the NAYLAX Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Let’s work together to make our lacrosse community the best it can be!

NAYLAX CODE OF CONDUCT

Revised October 2024

Youth sports play a vital role in fostering the physical, social, and emotional development of children. To support this growth, it is crucial for parents and guardians to encourage young athletes to uphold the values of sportsmanship. All adults involved in youth sports should serve as positive role models, demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control both on and off the field.

NAYLAX’s Mission: Our primary goal is to help participants grow into skilled, knowledgeable lacrosse players who embody teamwork and sportsmanship.

Respect for All: Every coach, parent, player, participant, referee, and attendee should be treated with respect, regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or ability.

Coach’s Commitment to Playing Time
Coaches aim to provide equitable playing time for all players, taking the following
factors into account:

❖ Attendance and punctuality
❖ Player’s assigned position
❖ Engagement and attitude on the sidelines
❖ Penalties incurred
❖ Injury status

Sportsmanship Expectations

Behavior: Refrain from engaging in—or encouraging your child to engage in—unsportsmanlike conduct with coaches, parents, players, referees, or other attendees.

Profanity: The use of inappropriate language is not tolerated. Respectful Communication: Criticism, teasing, “trash talking,” or any behavior that could be hurtful to others is unacceptable. Remember, your words can impact others deeply.

Social Media: Do not post negative comments about our program, players, parents, coaches, or teams on any online platform, including personal social media accounts. You will be required to remove any content deemed harmful or unflattering to our program.

Referee Interaction: Players and parents should not contact referees about calls or decisions. This is solely the responsibility of the coaches.

Safety: Do not engage in—or encourage any behavior that jeopardizes the health, safety, or well-being of anyone involved.

Family Involvement

Support & Cheering: We encourage positive cheering for our teams, but please avoid coaching or signaling to your child during games or practices, as it can be distracting for all players and increase the likelihood of mistakes or injury.

Fighting: Any player who initiates or provokes a fight will be ejected for the remainder of the game. A second occurrence will result in removal from the team, with no refund of registration fees for suspensions due to fighting.

Communication and Concerns

Team Decisions: Decisions are made with the team’s best interests in mind. Every family contributes equally and is valued by NAYLAX.

Raising Concerns: If you have concerns about your child's team, please approach the coach directly. Whenever possible, notify the coach in advance to arrange a private conversation after practice or a game. If you have concerns about the overall program, please contact a Board member.

Gossip: We strongly discourage gossip, as it is damaging and unproductive to our community.
